A CODESIGN Direction for the Simulation of Wave Propagation and its Application to Reverse Time Migration on GPU

In this presentation, we present a method that can use all the neighbor point of a point to approximate the laplacian operator which comes out from solving constant density acoustic wave equation. That means we can do more computation after getting the data to get better numerical performance on GPU and fit it very well. And we apply this method for GPU implementation of the reverse time migration algorithm. This is a new CODESIGN direction of designing new algorithm which fit the new hardware.
