The 2006 Finite Element Rodeo!
March 3-4, 2006
The 2006 edition of the Finite Element Rodeo will be held on March 3-4 at the Donald L. Houston Building on the Texas A&M campus in College Station. Registration cost is $35.00 for faculty and $30.00 for students. We prefer that you register online so we can have a head count on who is coming, but be true to the spirit of the meeting (i.e., it being informal), you can also register at the conference desk March 3rd.
Several years ago, an annual Texas conference relating to the finite element - the Finite Element Rodeo - was established. The conference location has rotated over the years between several universities in Texas. The last Finite Element Rodeo was held March 4-5, 2005 at Southern Methodist University. The 2006 Finite Element Rodeo, like its predecessors, will involve a series of informal meetings using the well-known "circus" format (at the beginning of the Rodeo, participants are asked who is willing to speak, and the schedule and the length of the talks are then arranged according to the number of available speakers).
The event begins on Friday at 1:00 p.m.; the list of speakers and the schedule of the talks will be made on the spot. The time allotted to each speaker will depend on the total number of proposed talks. Ph.D. students and post-grads are encouraged to actively participate.
